·      First Time a major multisport event achievd gender equality by having an equal number of events for males and femals

Athletes village provided accommodation and services to 6600 athletes and officials in 1252 permanent dwellings : 1700 one and two bedroom apartments and 82 three bedroom townhouses at Soutport, Gold Coast.
